Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 23, 2026
Netch Creative Ltd. ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Wrangler VFX application for iPad and the associated web portal at app.wranglervfx.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your full name, email address, and an encrypted password. If your account is part of an organization or team, we also store your role and team membership information.
Production Data
You may create projects, slates, lens grids, gear libraries, witness camera setups, HDRI capture logs, and other production metadata within the app. This data is stored locally on your device by default. If you subscribe to a plan with cloud sync enabled, this data is also transmitted to and stored on our servers to enable multi-device access and team collaboration.
Reference Photos
You may capture or import reference photos within the app and add annotations to them. These photos are stored locally on your device and, if cloud sync is enabled, on our cloud storage servers.
Device Information
When you sign in, we collect basic device information including device name, model, operating system version, and app version. This is used for device management, seat licensing, and troubleshooting.
Payment Information
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.
App Preferences
We store your in-app preferences (such as theme, battery saver settings, backup intervals, and default project settings) locally on your device using standard system storage. These preferences are not transmitted to our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Authenticate your identity and manage your account
- Enable cloud sync and team collaboration features
- Manage device registration and seat licensing
- Process subscription payments through Stripe
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, account deletion notices)
- Respond to support requests
- Improve and develop the Service
3. Data Storage and Security
Cloud Storage
Cloud data is stored using Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the us-west-2 region. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS/SSL), secure authentication through AWS Cognito, and encrypted storage.
Local Storage and Encryption
Project data stored locally on your device is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption via Apple's CryptoKit framework. The encryption key is generated per-device and stored securely in the iOS Keychain. This provides strong encryption even if the device has no passcode set. Additionally, local project files are written with iOS Data Protection (Complete Protection), which provides a further layer of hardware-level encryption tied to the device passcode.
Authentication Credentials
Your authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain, which is the secure, hardware-backed credential storage provided by Apple. Passwords are never stored in plaintext.
Bluetooth
The app optionally connects to Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) laser distance meters to capture measurements. Bluetooth is used solely for this purpose. No personal data is transmitted over Bluetooth.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud infrastructure, Stripe for payment processing, and Amazon SES for transactional email delivery. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
- Team Collaboration: If you are part of a team or organization, your name, email, and role may be visible to other team members and administrators as necessary for collaboration.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal processes.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request account deletion at any time through the Wrangler VFX app (Account > Delete Account) or through the web portal settings page. When you request deletion:
- Your account enters a 14-day grace period during which you can cancel the deletion via a link sent to your email.
- During the grace period, your account is signed out of all devices.
- After 14 days, your account and all associated data — including cloud-synced projects, reference photos, device registrations, and team memberships — are permanently deleted.
Local data stored on your device is not automatically deleted when your cloud account is deleted. You can remove the app from your device to delete local data, or delete individual projects from within the app.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Request data portability
To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address listed below.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
